This learning plan is intended to help experienced database administrators earn the MCITP Database Administrator certification for SQL Server 2005.
Getting certified as a MCITP Database Administrator shows that you have the knowledge and skills required to maintain enterprise data management solutions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. MCITP certification as a Database Administrator is appropriate for administrators of databases and network servers, and those who want to confirm their knowledge of SQL Server 2005. Candidates for this credential should have at least two years of experience installing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server, managing multidimensional databases, and implementing database and server security. You should know how to use the SQL Server user interface, set up and manage user accounts, write and store queries, monitor server activity, automate reporting and server management tasks, maintain database availability, and protect and recover data.
To earn this certification, candidates must pass three exams: 70-431, 70-443, and 70-444. Alternately, candidates who are currently certified as a MCDBA in SQL Server 2000 can upgrade their certification by passing two exams: 70-431 and 70-447.
